Yumei has been with Apex Fiduciary since 2007. As the Hong Kong office’s director, she is responsible for operational procedures to minimise and manage business risks, setting strategic goals and formulating business development initiatives. She specialises in fund and trust management, with particular emphasis on business development, regulatory and legal compliance matters.
She is at the forefront of Apex Fiduciary’s outreach in Asia, meeting potential clients in the first instance to provide preliminary structuring advice. Her work with fund managers, lawyers and tax experts helps structure investment vehicles for clients, be they offshore funds, companies or trusts.
Chinese by origin, she studied English Literature at Nanjing University before studying in Britain. Yumei has spent most of her adult life in Britain, gaining her Masters degree in Development Studies from the University of Bath, doctorate in Politics from the University of Strathclyde. Her career includes lecturing in universities, and then working as a senior analyst in the Investment Business Division of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission. She describes coming to Hong Kong to establish Apex Fiduciary’s office there as her career highlight. Her operation services clients from both the east and the west, with Hong Kong being the perfect place to utilise her linguistic, cultural and professional knowledge. Yumei is an associate member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and an affiliate member of Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
